This “Daughter” wine has evolved over the years (as has Lucy herself!); the 2019 vintage is a blend of 45% Viognier, 29% Muscat Canelli and 26% Roussanne, all sourced from the Perissos vineyard in Burnet. The carefully crafted combination of Rhone and Muscat varietals has produced a dry style, medium gold wine with floral and honeyed citrus aromatics giving way to lemon cream, pear and peach on the palate with a softly rounded acidity, ample mouth feel and a clean pleasing finish. Malolactic fermentation completed, aged in stainless steel with untoasted oak chips. A great sipping wine as well as an excellent pairing with soft cheeses, milder charcuterie, fish and chicken dishes.
The 2020 vintage offers a medium straw color and a nose of apple, citrus, grapefruit and pineapple. The citrus and apple notes continue on the palate along with a bright, forward acidity that characterizes this variety. Stainless steel aging and absence of secondary fermentation produces a balance of clarity and fuller mouth feel with a clean finish. More than ever, this is an ideal pairing with shellfish, seafood, charcuterie and milder, salty cheeses.
